APIs Educate and Enable Consumers

Most of the friction around APIs comes from gaps in understanding, not gaps in technology. I believe API operations have a responsibility to educate and enable the people who use them, through tutorials, guides, and clear explanations of not just how but why. Raising the API literacy of consumers and colleagues alike pays off every single time someone integrates faster or avoids a costly mistake. I have spent years teaching people about APIs because education is the highest-leverage thing you can do to make an operation successful. An enabled consumer succeeds on their own, and an educated organization governs its APIs far better than one that treats knowledge as tribal. Enablement is not an afterthought; it is core to how APIs create value.
